Simone Biles

 

Simone Biles, a gymnast from the United States, was awarded her 20th medal at the world championships. Team USA won their seventh world title, consecutively, at the Antwerp Belgium's event on October 4. Simone Biles is among the most acclaimed gymnast of all time with 33 gold medals she has won at international competitions as well as the Olympics. Biles completed a very difficult vault three days prior to the event the Olympics, which was the first time a woman ever attempted on a stage of international competition. Previously called the Yurchenko double-pike vault, the vault has been changed to the Biles II. In her final all-around event on the 6th October, this record-breaking gymnast will take part in her first ever international meet within 2021. Simone was born in Columbus, Ohio on the 27th of September 1997. Her birth mother struggled with addiction to drugs. Simone and her three siblings were removed from care of their home to foster care. Ron, a retired Air Force vet and Nellie an experienced nurse who retired, were the primary caregivers for Simone aged at the age of six. Also, the couple adopted the older sister Adria. Their maternal aunt stayed in Simone's older siblings.
