Allyson Felix
Allyson Nicole Felix was born on the 18th of November of 1985 from Los Angeles. Her father Paul Felix is an ordained Minister at Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. Her mother Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix displayed a knack for athletics from the beginning, as she discovered her ability to sprint when she was a student at the Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within 10 weeks of her first tryout she came 2nd in the 200m race at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003 Felix finished high school signing a professional contract with the company that makes sports Adidas before enrolling at the University of Southern California where she studied elementary education. Felix's first Olympic medal came during the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set an international junior record sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 secs. She became the youngest 200-meter world champion in the Helsinki World Championships. She defended this title in 2007, over her former Jamaican adversary Veronica Campbell. Felix was an avid competitor in London, Beijing Rio de Jaeiro, and Tokyo. She always finished at the top of the podium in every event.
