Allyson Felix
Allyson Michelle Felix was born in Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Paul Felix, the father of Allyson Michelle Felix is a minister ordained at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix works as a primary school teacher in Balboa Magnet. Felix realized early on that she was gifted in running while attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within 10 weeks of her first tryout she came 2nd in the 200 meters during the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix graduated from her high school education and was signed to a pro-contract to Adidas. In 2004, she was enrolled at her first year at the University of Southern California, in the area of elementary education. Her first Olympic medal came at the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set the world junior record by sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 secs. In 2005, the Helsinki World Championships saw her become the youngest woman to win the 200 meter race. She defended this title and beat her Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix participated in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo and consistently placed within the top three athletes in each of her events.
