Patina Miller
Miller was the lead Player in The Broadway revival of Stephen Schwartz's famed 1972 musical "Pippin". "Pippin" was created by Tony Award winning director Diane Paulus directed "Pippin", which also featured Matthew James Thomas and Andrea Martin. Terrence Mann and Matthew James Thomas were the other stars. Patina put her own contemporary spin on the award-winning Ben Vereen's character and was able to master the Fosse dance moves which are essential to the production. Patina's performance earned her a Tony Award in the category of Best Actress, Leading Role Musical. The Outer Critics Circle Award was as well for Outstanding Actress. Her previous roles included the one as the Leading Player in the American Repertory Theater production of "Pippin" from the month of December 2012 through January 2013. Miller made her Broadway debut in the 2011 Broadway season as the gutsy nightclub-singer-turned-nun "Deloris Van Cartier" in the stage adaptation of "Sister Act", which earned her first Tony nomination, as well as Drama Desk, Drama League, and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations for her performance.
