Cynthia began her lengthy career in the business shifting from New York to pursue a modeling career. The first model contract she signed was working with Wihelmina Models. This led to her appearance on the cover of Essence Magazine. Not only was Cynthia's first cover on Essence one of the top-selling covers ever published by the magazine, it was also a personal favorite of then editor-in chief Susan Taylor. Cynthia was able to secure her second cover soon after and set up the foundation for her long-term career. Then, she went into Paris in addition to Milan. There, she made an appearance on runways during Paris Fashion Week as well as Milan Fashion Week. Cynthia was able to spend almost a full year abroad. When she returned to the United States, her fame exploded. Her job was to work on advertising with Maybelline Oil of Olay Macy's. Elle's Essence's Vanity Fair magazine editorials soon were followed. Cynthia is known for some of the most memorable career highlights. She was picked ahead of Naomi Campbell, for a performance in the movie Sandra Bernhadt opposite in the movie "Without You - I am the only thing."
