The Romanian gymnast did not only attract attention from everywhere, but she also helped Romania to establish itself in the international map. The sporting icon made her a world-wide sensation after she scored a record-breaking score. She created a legend, and helped popularize gymnastics across the world. It also changed people's perception of female gymnasts. Her contribution to the Olympics was so great the two routines which are the toe-on motion and the release movement were dedicated to her. Both are rated as being high-level difficult. Also, she performed very well in World Championships, European Championships as well as the Olympics. Her performance led to her becoming a legend and she's among the most famous gymnasts in the world.
